Sony has unveiled a new 4K television, which it claims is the world’s slimmest LCD.
Launched at this year’s CES in Las Vegas, at just 5mm thick, Sony’s latest 4K set is thinner than both its own Xperia Z smartphone and an iPhone.
The Bravia X9000C will run on the Android TV platform in a bid to “make cross-functionality between TV and mobile richer than ever.”
According to reports, the set will be compatible with Google Play, Google Cast, voice search, and smartwatch features.
The launch comes as new research forecasts the growth of 4K ultra high-definition TVs, which are projected to reach four million units in 2015, up 208% year on year.
