RA Upholds Complaints Against Commercial Radio Stations
The Radio Authority has upheld ten complaints against eight different commercial radio stations, after receiving a total of 79 complaints this quarter.
In its quarterly bulletin, the RA upheld two complaints against London station Xfm. One complainant said that he was abused and ridiculed when he was put on air after calling the station, and another felt that the inclusion of bad language at lunchtime drivetime was offensive and unnecessary.
Hallam FM was also pulled up by the radio watchdog for a live broadcast which advised listeners how to avoid arrest or prosecution for possession of drugs.
Other stations which had complaints upheld against them included Magic 1548 and Cambridge Red Radio.
