Chancellor Schroder has moved quickly to deny that the German government is considering dropping its legal action against the tobacco advertising directive. In contrast to comments made by the German Minister for Health, publicised by the European Commission, the German Chancellor said publicly: “I have no intention of dropping the complaint”. Any decision on the case is the responsibility of the German Cabinet.
