IPC Magazines Creates Merchandise Licensing Division

IPC Magazines has created a separate merchandise licensing division in order to develop a brand extension licensing programme for its key titles.

Intellectual property director, Rebecca Miskin, commented: “As a licensor, IPC Magazines is in the enviable position of being able to offer licensees the opportunity to work alongside some of the industry’s most respected brands.” Titles currently in development include Horse & Hound, Mizz, Loaded, Yatching World and Country Life.

Today countrylife.co.uk goes live on the web. As well as featuring editorial from the title Country Life, the new site aims to expand the brand’s information and reference capabilities.

Finally, IPC has chosen Link Licensing to represent its footballing title Shoot, and to develop a range of merchandise for the magazine. Products aimed at kids, mainly boys, aged 7-12 years, will include toiletries, games, food and clothing. Creations within the adult sector will involve 70’s retro style clothing and a range of bags, watches and stationary.

Sean Singleton, publisher of IPC’s football titles, which also include World Soccer and Soccer Stars, commented: “Shoot has been the UK’s best known football magazine for 30 years. Therefore it is a very strong brand name and has lots of licensing potential.”
