New Launch Into Gardening Magazine Sector
Romsey Publishing has announced the launch of another gardening title following the recent spurt of launches in the sector recently. Romsey already publishes the title English Garden in the sector.
However the new bi-monthly launch, which is to be called Garden Ideas, will aim for a younger, trendier audience, aged 25-45. Garden Ideas is planned to launch on 19 March, and will be edited by Chris Day, who used to edit IPC’s weekly Amateur Gardening. Its launch print run will be 70,000 and it will have an intial cover price of £1.95
The monthly gardening sector is currently dominated by BBC Gardeners World, which had circulation of 321,366 at the last ABC audit. Its closest rival is Emap’s Garden with a circulation of just under 250,000.
Other titles are planned for launch into the market in the near future – IPC is hatching New Eden, and GE Magazines is planning to launch the bi-monthly Garden Inspirations, seen here. Both will be in direct competition with Romsey’s Garden Ideas.
