Talk Makes Radio History With Blair And Brown Call-In

Yesterday’s Talk Radio broadcast of a live interview with the Prime Minister Tony Blair and the Chancellor Gordon Brown (see Newsline) drew over 35,000 calls, according to the station.

The programme, which was broadcast between 9 and 10am, marked the first time that the Prime Minister and the Chancellor have spoken directly to the nation via a radio phone-in. Callers asked questions about, amongst other things, the politicians’ personal lives, the budget, Iraq, fuel price increases and exports and exchange rates.

The interview will be repeated on Talk Radio on Sunday 14 March, from 7pm to 8pm.
