Metro appoints new head of content sponsorship

Charlotte Sayer, former account manager for Metro, has been promoted to head of content sponsorship as the company looks to maximise revenue opportunities across its platforms.

The role will focus largely on monetising new sponsorship opportunities, as well as developing new content platforms.

Sayer, who has worked with the trading team at Metro for six of the last eight years, is currently in charge of leading content partnerships internally.

Grant Woodthorp, Metro’s trading director said: “I’m chuffed to see Charlotte step up so naturally into this role, managing various stakeholders to deliver the best results for Metro, our customers and consumers.

“Her proven track record and passion for innovating and achieving results makes for a very exciting development in our commercial team.”

Over the past year Metro has made changes to the look of its newspapers and content in an effort to create new commercial opportunities for promotion and display advertising. Last week it launched new interiors and property supplement, and also a new weekend entertainment section every Friday.
