Harmsworth Enters Celebrity Market
Harmsworth Publishing has set up a unique sponsorship deal with Rover cars to back the first issue of its puzzle/celebrity style magazine, Guess Who!, due for release on July 8.
Speaking to MediaTel this morning Andrew Warren believes that this angle will enable Harmsworth to approach advertisers for the next edition with a “proven track record”, giving the magazine better focus and enabling them to produce first issue sales figures. The deal is worth £25,000 and includes mentions on both the front and back covers.
Guess Who! has set an initial print run of 270,000, compared with Northern & Shell’s ambitious first issue figure of 750,000 for OK! Editor of Guess Who!, Leonard Stall, is hoping for settle down sales of 175,000, claiming that the puzzle element of the magazine will ensure it is not competing directly for the readers of either OK! or Hello!
Consisting of 52 pages, the full colour magazine is aiming to target 25-34 year olds – falling into the same bracket as the other titles, with 22% of Hello’s readership in this age group.
