London Evening Standard appoints Laura Weir as editor of ES Magazine

The fashion features editor at British Vogue, Laura Weir, has been appointed as the new editor of ES Magazine, the weekly supplement to the London Evening Standard.

Weir was previously fashion features director at Sunday Times Style and has worked at Drapers and Elleuk.com.

“I am delighted to welcome Laura,” said London Evening Standard editor, Sarah Sands.

“She is an original talent with real insight into culture and fashion and has clear ideas on bringing them to life on the page.

“We have a very strong team on ES, and Laura is the perfect figure to lead the magazine into an exciting new phase at the very centre of London life.”

Launched in 1987, ES Magazine has has a weekly print and digital circulation of 352,218 and is freely distributed in the capital, alongside the Evening Standard, every Friday.

Weir added: “I am thrilled to be joining ES Magazine as editor and intend to lead this already hugely popular title into a new, bold, engaging and exciting direction.

“It will be a home for agenda setting journalism, and with a renewed focus on fashion, ES Magazine will reflect the capital’s status as the world’s most dynamic city.”

Weir will start her new role in the autumn.
