Helen McRae appointed CEO of Mindshare UK

Following an interim period, Mindshare UK has appointed Helen McRae as its new CEO and chair of Mindshare Europe with immediate effect.

McRae, who joined Mindshare in 2004 to lead the global Unilever account, replaces former CEO Mark Creighton, who is set to take on a new role at Dentsu Aegis Network – dependent on his obligations to WPP-owned Mindshare.

“Helen is a rare talent able to lead intellectually and is a demon shit kicker,” said Mindshare’s global CEO Nick Emery.

“Taking the UK role removes a regional layer and makes us faster, more adaptive and links global and national more effectively. This a core mantra for us and a trend we have seen across our clients in the last year, with larger market CEOs taking responsibility for the region.”

McRae added: “I’m looking forward to further pushing our ambition of inventing the future of media for our clients. The UK team is already amazing and it’s going to be a privilege to work with them more closely.”

At the same time, Christof Baron will take on the role CEO of Central and Eastern Europe, while Ashutosh Srivastava, chairman Asia/CEO emerging markets group, will take on responsibility for APAC, Russia, the Middle East and Africa.
