Maiden Boosts Poster Portfolio With £3.8m Deals

Outdoor company, Maiden, has reinforced its 48-sheet poster advertising business with the acquisition of three regional poster contractors for a combined £3.8 million. Maiden has bought a majority stake in Metro Scotland, ACS, which operates in the Midlands and Yorkshire and Billboard, which holds sites across Manchester and the North-West.

Billboard is a completely new acquisition, but Maiden has been marketing the holdings of Metro Scotland and ACS for the past two years. Combined, the three groups control 700 48-sheet panels and 86 96-sheets. This grows Maiden’s market share of the 48-sheet sector from 37% to 40%. More O’Ferrall has the largest share of the 96-sheet with 34%; Maiden takes 31%.

Garry Hartley, group development director of Maiden Outdoor, says: “These additions to our portfolio reinforce our strength in key areas of the UK and will provide an extra boost to our premium products.”
