LNR Sales Team Lose Jobs Following Switch To Opus

London News Radio has made its entire sales team redundant following the switch of sales control to GWR’s Opus last week (see Opus Takes Sales For London News Radio Stations) and has also lost its group programme director, John Simons.

It is understood that around 15 of LNR’s sales staff will leave the company by the end of this week as the operation moves over to Opus. Last week, managing director of LNR, Nigel Reeve, told Newsline that the sales team would be incorporated into Opus; Opus is now expected to select some LNR staff to join its sales operation. Reeve was not available for comment at the time of writing.

LNR’s editorial staff are expected to remain with the station following the restructure. Under the new structure ITN is to provide content for News Direct 97.3FM and LBC 1152AM, whilst Opus handles all sales for the two stations which will be sold in tandem.
