TV Viewing Summary W/E 20/06/99
Possibly reflecting how times have changed since the 1980s, the Royal Wedding between Prince Edward and Sophie Rhys Jones achieved less than spectacular viewing figures: 9.34 million people tuned into watch BBC1’s coverage of the event, with a further 5.47 million watching ITV’s coverage; both audiences are well down on the 20 million plus viewing figures that Princes Charles’ and Prince Andrew’s weddings achieved.
The second episode of ITV’s Always and Everyone has dropped back slightly on the previous week’s viewing figures, with only 7.76 million tuning in (compared to 9.05 million for the first episode).
On the James Bond front Goldfinger and Thunderball pulled in impressive viewing totals, attracting audiences of 8.98 and 7.61 million respectively.
