National Newspaper June 1999 ABC Summary
The majority of national newspaper titles suffered losses in circulation for the six months to June 1999, although a few titles did report some respectable rises.
In terms of actual increases in sales, the Mail On Sunday enjoyed the healthiest rise, totting up over 67,000 extra sales during June 1999. The Financial Times showed an 8.8% rise in its circulation, continuing its upward year on year trend.
As for the losers, the Sunday Sport suffered the largest proportional loss in circulation and the News Of The World, still the UK’s most popular paper, also sustained the biggest actual loss, dropping nearly 125,000 in actual sales.
