IPC Launches Free Magazine For Ibiza Clubbers

IPC Magazines is producing a free magazine called The Islander, which will target club-goers who make their annual pilgrimage to Ibiza during the summer months. The weekly title is to run for 11 issues and has a print run of 20,000.

In a deal with HMV, which is sponsoring the magazine, half the copies will be distributed through HMV’s shops whilst the other half will be available on the island. The Islander is to promote IPC’s two other youth/music titles, Loaded and Muzik. HMV will also produce special promotions for these titles in its shops.

Separately, IPC has appointed a number of new editors. Sarah Kilby and Tessa Hilton have been appointed as editor and editor-at-large respectively at Woman & Home magazine. Kilby moves from her deputy editor’s role at the ExpressSaturday magazine; Hilton was previously editor of the Sunday Mirror. Adrienne Wild, former editor-in-chief of EMAP’s gardening titles, has joined IPC Country & Leisure Media as editor of Your Garden magazine. Finally, Steve Fairclough has been named as the new editor of Stamp Magazine.
