Lady C’s latest trial nets ITV’s I’m a Celeb 8.3m on Mon

ITV once again destroyed its prime time rivals last night thanks to the latest instalment of what is quickly becoming The Lady C Show, as viewers of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! (9pm) once again ensured the Jamaican socialite was the solo victim of a bushtucker trial.

Unfortunately for baying haters, Lady Colin Campbell once again sailed through her insect-laden obstacles with ease, hanging onto a zen-like calm while sticking her head into five separate boxes littered with all kinds of critters.

An impressive Monday audience of 8.3 million horrified viewers tuned in to see Lady C flirt outrageously with terrified hosts Ant and Dec, leading to a 35% audience share and generating more tweets than any of yesterday’s TV shows.

At the same time, it was female British Muslims Channel 4 put on trial with the provocatively titled Isis: The British Women Supporters Unveiled at 9pm.

Secretly filmed over a period of 12 months, the documentary looks at social media activity and uncovers the identities of some IS sympathisers, with the expose securing 1.4 million viewers and a 6% share.

Not even the head of FIFA was safe from the prying eyes of the camera as poor old Sepp Blatter fell afoul of a Channel 5’s documentary examining the immense and sweeping scandal rotting the organisation to the core.

Sepp Blatter Exposed: The Fall of FIFA (9pm) had the relatively easy task of listing all the dodgy activity that has come to light so far and pulled in 438,000 viewers and a 2% share.

BBC One’s 9pm offering came in the shapely form of Dara Ó Briain and a ‘team of experts’ who travelled the globe to bring us news of Tomorrow’s Food.

The first of three episodes showed us a food factory run by robots and a highly productive fruit farm that contained no soil, securing 2.4 million viewers and a 10% share for BBC One.

Over on BBC Two was the third part of the murky and paranoid London Spy (9pm), which stars Ben Whishaw as a civilian framed by the government after the death of his MI6 partner.

2.5 million viewers tuned in two weeks ago to be introduced to the shadowy world of double crossings and evil conspiracies, with last night’s suitably twisty instalment securing 1.4 million viewers and a 6% share.

Earlier at 8pm, ITV’s resident thrifty frugal guru, Martin Lewis, was back for a fifth series of penny pinching advice. The return of The Martin Lewis Money Show secured 4 million viewers and a 17% share.

At 8:30pm, Simply Nigella (BBC Two) was back lolling around the kitchen, licking spoons and throwing suggestive glances at the camera lens as if she cut her teeth on Loaded TV. 2.2 million viewers tuned in to see the domestic idol muster up some dairy-free chai muffins (mmmm), resulting in a 10% share.

Things were a little more serious over on BBC One with The VW Emissions Scandal – Panorama (8:30pm) lifting the lid on more spoon-fed lies society apparently loves to lap up.

Earlier in the dizzying world of soap, there was some saucy hen party fun down the pub, with Emmerdale (ITV, 7pm) securing 6.2 million viewers and a 30% share.

Over on BBC One at 8pm, the Mitchells sat down for a fraught and tense reunion lunch as a few grievances were aired. The latest palaver from EastEnders netted 6.1 million viewers and a 26% share.

Coronation-Street

But it was a double Coronation Street (ITV) that nabbed second and third place behind the jungle celebrities.

The 7:30pm visit saw demented devil spawn, Simon Barlow, reign teenagery angst onto the street, resulting in 7.5 million viewers and a 34% share, falling to 7.3 million viewers and a 31% share at 8:30pm.
