AOL UK has appointed Gavin Johnson as commercial director to lead its UK sales team, as the business outlines plans to become the “leading mobile media technology company” in the UK.
Johnson joined AOL following its acquisition of Millennial Media at the end of last year, where he has held the position of vice president of sales in the UK since November 2014.
In his new role Johnson will be responsible for driving advertising revenue and growth across AOL UK’s content, video and programmatic platforms, including The Huffington Post UK, MSN, Skype, Engadget, Xbox and TechCrunch – with a specific focus on growing mobile revenues.
“AOL is already making significant headway in 2016, disrupting the status quo within the industry,” said managing director Stuart Flint.

“AOL has a unique place in the industry with its rich mix of content and advertising platforms. I’m looking forward to extending my remit and leading a very well regarded sales team in the market.”
