TDI Loses Monopoly On Stagecoach Bus-Side Advertising

TDI Loses Monopoly On Stagecoach Bus-Side Advertising

The monopoly on bus-side advertising held by TDI has been broken with the loss of the Oxford Tube route to new rival Nationwide Advertising. From 1 January 2001, Nationwide will offer advertising opportunities on all 88 Stagecoach buses operating on the route between London’s West End and Oxford, via the A40, M40 and A41.

Nationwide Advertising will add bus-side advertising to its existing portfolio of lorry advertising space. Its operation is small in comparison to TDI, which also operates space on the London Underground, but it also has interests in Europe.

TDI will not be asked to renew its tender for the Oxford Tube route and sources close to Nationwide Advertising say that if other Stagecoach routes become available due to competition being established, it would be a natural progression for the company to extend into this market.
