Emap Bags Humberside Digital Licence

The Radio Authority has awarded the local digital multiplex licence for the Humberside area to the sole applicant, Emap. Delivering digital radio services to a population of up to around 700,000, the group will broadcast a total of eight programme services.

Included in the line-up are contemporary hits from Viking FM, dance music from Kiss, easy listening from Magic, Classic Gold, and rock and alternative music from Xfm. In addition to the commercial services, output from BBC Radio Humberside will also be included.

Emap has already been awarded the local digital multiplex licences for Central Lancashire (see Emap Wins Digital Radio Licence For Central Lancashire), and owns joint multiplexes across London, Birmingham and Manchester with Capital (see Local Digital Radio Launches In The UK.)
