September 1st has been set for the launch of the Thames/Cox Enterprises/ TCI joint venture – UK Living.
Aimed particularly at women, the channel will focus on topics and advice ‘relevant to today’s woman’ – ie. cookery, homemaking, soaps and romantic films. Head of programming will be Liz Howell (ex GMTV). The main programme contributor will be the BBC, which coupled with the billing of UK Living as the sister channel to UK Gold tends to suggest another archive channel – programming and advertising plans will not be confirmed until early August.
