Money Channel Signs Carriage Deal With Telewest
A one-year carriage contract has been signed between Telewest and The Money Channel, the UK’s first television channel dedicated to money matters. The channel, which launched earlier this year on Sky Digital (see The Money Channel Gets Carriage On BSkyB) will broadcast its 24-hour financial programming on the cable group’s Active Digital service.
The two groups are in discussion about the inclusion of digital interactive content in the channel’s programming as part of Telewest’s digital interactive services offering.
Adam Faith, joint managing director of the Money Channel, said of the deal: “The tie-up represents a major endorsement of our strategy to provide up-to-the-minute consumer-friendly financial programming to as wide as possible an audience and also for our related digital interactive services strategy. We will continue to seek opportunities to maximise penetration of the channel and the potential of its related services.”
