Virgin Engineers Find FM Pathway

Richard Branson outlined his future plans for Virgin 1215 to the national heritage select committee yesterday, claiming that his engineers have found an FM frequency that would increase Virgin’s audience to over 10 million.

The network would take 12 months to set up, claims Virgin’s owner, but the initial construction would enable the station to increase its reach to 50m.

The proposal would mean that BBC Radio 4 could remain on both long wave and FM, the proposed 24-hour news service could run on Virgin’s AM frequency, whilst the adult rock station took on the new FM network.
