Newspaper Society Unveils Regional Planning Tool

Today sees the launch of the Newspaper Society’s internet-based regional press planning system, at www.planregionalpress.co.uk. The service is designed to make planning regional press campaigns easier and to entice more national advertisers to the medium.

It forms part of a series of initiatives introduced earlier this year after media planners and buyers called for a more streamlined system for the industry (see Regional Press To Invest £100,000 In Ad Effectiveness Research). It includes mapping systems, audience data and schedule analysis as well as case studies and research and includes the industry’s net-based artwork delivery system, AdFast (see Adfast Rolls Out Across The UK).

“The diversity of the regional press is one of its great strengths – no other medium has such extensive reach. But planning a regional press campaign for over 1,300 titles can be a daunting prospect, involving several stages,” explains Chris Stanley, marketing director of the Newspaper Society. “The aim of this initiative is to remove another one of the hurdles that agencies have to overcome to access the strength of our medium.”
