MediaTel Question Time Event Assesses The Future Of New Media

Last night MediaTel held its second Media Question Time event at the BBC Radio Theatre. Media professionals from all areas of the industry gathered to watch and grill a distinguished panel. BBC Radio media correspondent Torin Douglas chaired the event and on the panel were Richard Eyre, managing director of Pearson Television, Hugo Drayton, managing director of Hollinger Telegraph New Media, Mandy Pooler, chief executive of Mindshare, Tom Toumazis, director of UK consumer advertising at EMAP Group Ad Sales, and Conor Dignam, editor of Marketing.

Answering questions from the audience, the hottest topic on the agenda was the internet and the future for traditional media as dot.coms continue to consume media budgets. Other subjects up for discussion included the future shape of British television and the increasing fragmentation of audiences.
