Exterion Media has today named Nigel Clarkson as its new chief revenue officer, a newly created role for the out-of-home business.
Clarkson will lead all commercial and marketing elements of the business to drive development and growth. His appointment follows that of Andrea Marsh, Exterion Media’s new digital transformation director, who joined the business in January.
Clarkson is charged with driving collaboration across teams and will head up the company’s newly-created commercial board, which brings together all commercial functions of the business, including national and local sales, data, creative, marketing, communications and digital. In December 2017 Clarkson was the focus of some controversy when he was sacked as Oath’s UK managing director following an internal investigation into “complaints and allegations” made against him by employees.
Oath terminated his contract following the conclusion of an investigation into alleged breaches of its standards of business conduct and “Oath values”.
Clarkson will join Exterion on 16 April and will report directly into UK MD Dave King, who said of the appointment: “Nigel is passionate about out-of-home, and brings extensive senior-level experience across mobile, digital and out-of-home, which will help shape the future commercial growth of the business.
“He deeply understands the unique partnership role that we can play alongside both traditional and digital media channels, and how we can capitalise on opportunities in digital, data-driven audience insight and creativity.”
