Dentsu Aegis appoints Pippa Glucklich as CEO of Amplifi UK

The previous CEO of Starcom UK, Pippa Glucklich, has been named the new boss of Amplifi UK – the innovation and investment arm of Dentsu Aegis Network.

Glucklich, who replaces Matthew Platts following a promotion to CEO of Media Brands, begins her new role in May and will lead all four business divisions, including investment, media partnerships, programmatic and entertainment content.

Glucklich, a well known face in adland and a champion of diversity and wellbeing, stepped down from Starcom after five years at the end of 2017. Her media career spans more then 25 years.

Meanwhile, Platts – to whom Glucklich will report into – will be responsible for accelerating the integration of Dentsu Aegis’s media and data capabilities, innovation and enabling clients to benefit from greater collaboration across the agencies.

As a result, all Dentsu Aegis Network’s media agency leaders across Amplifi, Carat, Vizeum, iProspect, and Fetch will now report into Platts.

“In Pippa and Matthew, we have two highly accomplished, inspirational leaders who are greatly respected by both clients, colleagues and the wider media industry,” said Stef Calcraft executive chairman, Dentsu Aegis Network UK & Ireland.

“Both will play a central role in driving our continued growth and innovation strategy, simplifying our media businesses and delivering superior creative communications solutions for our clients. I am delighted to have them both on the leadership team.”

Commenting on her new role, Glucklich said Amplifi is a “truly innovative and disruptive” business with far reaching capabilities and a clear vision for all media activation to be people-based.

“I’m delighted to be joining them at such an exciting and pivotal time and look forward to working with the talented team there to lead the market in media innovation and delivery of the best value to clients,” she said.

Meanwhile, Matthew Platts said: “We have a progressive structure that uniquely removes barriers to collaboration and means that we’re set-up to connect our capabilities around our clients.

“I’m looking forward to working more closely with all our brilliant media leaders to bring our complementary capabilities together, inspire innovation and unlock further value for our clients. Having been in the business for more than two decades, I feel honoured and excited to be given this opportunity.”

Platts starts his new role immediately and continues to report into Calcraft.
