Translucis Appoints Executive Media Director

Translucis has appointed former CIA new business director, Ian Davis, as executive media director of its plasma screen network.

In the newly created role, Davis will be responsible for driving commercial advertising revenue and raising awareness of opportunities to use the company’s Magnetic-branded plasma screens in bars and clubs. He will report to global CEO of Translucis, Andrew Hart.

Commenting on the appointment, Hart said: “Ian’s experience within the advertising sector has given him an extensive contact list. This, coupled with his strategic approach, will assist Translucis in building a quality revenue stream and a unique global brand.”

Prior to joining Translucis, Davis was sales and planning director at former ITV sales house, TSMS, and has acted in a consultancy capacity to Channel 4 and Starcom Motive.

Launched earlier in the year (see No Chance Of A Quiet Pint As Translucis Targets 18-24 Year Olds In Pubs), Diageo-backed Translucis broadcasts advertising and programming via satellite to plasma ad screens in bars and clubs across the UK. The company recently secured the contract to extend its network to Student Union bars in Oxford, Brunel and Warwick (see Translucis Signs Student Bar Deal).
