ITC Merges Content Groups

The ITC is merging its Advertising & Sponsorship and Programmes groups in a move which anticipates the creation of the new communications regulator, OFCOM, in 2003, which will bring five of the current regulators, including the ITC under one roof.
Chief executive Patricia Hodgson said: “Given the likelihood of a single content area within OFCOM, there are clearly strong reasons for creating a new group focused on content and audience interests. So this move is future-oriented and designed to help us lead the transition towards the new organisation.”
The new group will be headed by director Sarah Thane and deputy director Ian Blair. Thane is currently director of programmes and Blair deputy director of advertising and sponsorship at the ITC. The changes will take effect from 1 October.
