J Walter Thompson has announced the purchase of Black Cat Holdings, a UK-based direct marketing agency. The move continues the recent acquisitional spree of parent company WPP as it looks to strengthen its high growth areas.
Specialising in direct, loyalty, interactive and promotional marketing the group is the fourth largest independent company of its kind in the UK, with revenues of £5m during 2000. Clients include Air Miles, Avis, Cable & Wireless and Yahoo!.
