TalkSport Rejigs Output As First Anniversary Approaches
Talksport is celebrating the approach of its first birthday with a number of major programme changes.
Paul Hawksbee and Andy Jacobs, whose Thursday Night Kickabout show was voted second-best radio show by Campaign magazine, will be moved to the afternoon drive-time slot four days a week, while Mike Parry will join Alan Brazil on The Sports Breakfast. A new three-hour Friday show will be presented by Tom Watt and Sky TV personality Rob Wotton will take over the Afternoon Sportszone from Monday to Thursday.
The national commercial sports station owned by the Wireless Group was born out of Talk Radio in January last year (see Talk To Launch UK’s First Sport Station) and now has a male, ABC1-dominated audience of 2.1m.
