Mirror Unveils £10m Boost To Saturday Offering
The Mirror is to unveil a new Saturday package to attract new readers to the title. It will move the successful women’s supplement, M, from Tuesday to Saturday to join its TV listings guide The Look.
Set to launch on February 10, the move will coincide with the arrival of the paper’s new astrologer, Jonathan Cainer. It will be backed by a £6m marketing boost and a further £4m will be spent on production costs. Piers Morgan, editor of the Mirror, said: “Saturday has emerged as the big new battleground for newspapers and we intend to win the war with what amounts to a stunning package.”
Switching M to Saturday’s will bring it to the attention of a wider audience. The supplement, which will remain in newsprint form on Tuesdays, has increased Tuesday sales of the paper by 60,000 since its launch in .
