MediaCom has promoted James Mackenzie to its UK executive committee, taking on the role of chief investment officer.
Mackenzie joined the WPP agency two years ago as head of investment following a three-year stint at PHD, most recently as director of investment.
Prior to this, he held senior positions at agencies including Vizeum UK and ZenithOptimedia.
In his new role, Mackenzie will focus on building MediaCom UK’s relationships and partnerships with media owners.
“Jimmy joined us at a pivotal moment for our business – with the client/agency relationship changing, the media industry completely transforming and MediaCom itself needing to adapt and move with this. He made an immediate impact and has played a key role in our success over the last two years,” said Josh Krichefski, CEO of MediaCom UK.
“Jimmy is hugely knowledgeable about all aspects of trading and this, coupled with his calm and professional demeanour, has made him a huge asset for us, our clients and media partners. It’s a promotion that will ensure he can play a key role for us now and in the future and I’m genuinely delighted to be announcing it.”
MediaCom claims that Mackenzie’s promotion follows a “hugely successful period” for the agency, in which it has retained Sky, DLG, Coke and Shell as clients, while also winning accounts from Adidas, Lloyds Banking Group and Match.com
