Trinity Mirror Unveils New Title
![]()
Trinity Mirror is launching a free weekly newspaper in the Midlands to target “active consumers”.
The Birmingham Post & Mail will launch on 10 January and has been designed to appeal to those who are actively interested in local news and are considered receptive to advertising. The paper will be distributed to ethnic minorities and homes that do not currently receive a free newspaper.
The Birmingham Post & Mail‘s advertising director, Dawn Sweeney, said: “The paper is intended to generate the maximum response from advertisers so it is important that all the products in our portfolio are of the highest quality and reflect the changing need of our customers and their marketplaces.”
Trinity Mirror recently announced that advertising conditions have continued to deteriorate since 11 September (see Trinity Misses Out On Christmas Bonus), revealing national revenue declines of 10.1% and 20.7% in October and November respectively.
