365 Closes TV Division; Rivals Launches E-Newsletter
365 Corporation, which has recently joined its web content operation with Chrysalis-owned Rivals.net, with the possible loss of around 60 jobs (see New Media Round-Up), has announced that it has closed its Television365 division on 1 December and will concentrate more on its voice services from now on.
The announcement was made as 365 released interim results, which showed period on period increases in both half year turnover and operating loss. Martin Turner, CEO, said: “Despite an increase in restructuring costs during the quarter, significant progress has been made and we are confident of 365’s future success.”

Meanwhile, Rivals.net, fresh from striking the merger deal, is to launch a daily email sports newsletter called The Score. It has invested £150,000 in a registration generation campaign, with banners running on sites including autotrader.com and bravo.co.uk. It will also have a double page ad in Rival’s print magazine, also called The Score. The launch will be supported with SMS and email marketing.
