talkSPORT Sponsorship Deal Brings Beer To Breakfast Time

TalkSPORT has secured its largest sponsorship deal yet. The £1m sponsorship deal will see John Smith’s back the station’s sports breakfast show.

The new No Nonsense Sports Breakfast will air Monday to Friday for 53 weeks from July 2, and will carry live and pre-recorded credits and trails advertising the John Smith’s brand.

Sales director at TWG Impact, Jason Trout, said, “The agreement is one of the biggest single show sponsorships in the history of radio in the UK and we are delighted to secure the deal.”

The sponsorship will be launched with a £500,000 poster campaign and an on-air promotion, which will give listeners the chance to win a day out at four major sports events during the year. The talkSPORT web site will also carry a branded sporting calendar and offer regular competitions.

Monthly outside broadcasts will give listeners a chance to take part in the show and a promotional bus will advertise the show at sports venues across the country.

The deal was negotiated by MediaVest on behalf of Scottish Courage and on behalf of talkSPORT by TWG Impact.
