IPC Declares New Web Magazine A Success
![]()
IPC Country & Leisure has demonstrated that there is life after the dotcom fallout by declaring the launch of its internet magazine Web User a success. An audited statement for the first three issues released by the publishers suggests that the title has achieved market leadership with an average circulation of 92,000.
Since its launch on 22 March, the fortnightly magazine claims to have achieved 75% brand awareness amongst its target audience of male home internet users. Sylvia Auton, managing director of IPC Country & Leisure said, “We said from the outset that our objective was to achieve market-leadership.”
The home internet user market may have proved friendly to a new arrival, but in the e-business and investment sector Centaur had less luck with New Media Investor magazine. Thanks to the downturn in advertising revenue, the title will be merged with its more successful stable-mate New Media Age, following the final issue due out on 21 June.
