Jim Hytner To Join ITV?

ITV is believed to have offered the position of marketing and commercial director to Channel 5 marketing chief, Jim Hytner.

Press reports today speculated that Hytner will take over from John Hardie, who resigned two weeks ago to join Disney. ITV is thought to have had several informal meetings with Hytner but a decision is likely to require approval from Carlton and Granada bosses, Gerry Murphy and Charles Allen, with the final go ahead coming from ITV chief executive Stuart Prebble and chairman Leslie Hill.

ITV and Channel 5 today refused to comment.

John Hardie quit unexpectedly to take up a position at Walt Disney overseeing the groups TV operations across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
