Telegraph Takes Over Ad Sales For Sunday Business
The Telegraph Group is to take over the management of advertising sales for Sunday Business.
The move, which will come into effect mid-August, will see Sunday Business retain its own sales team, which will be transferred to Canary Wharf where it will become part of the Telegraph’s sales operation.
The deal gives the Sunday Business team access to the Telegraph’s sales management expertise and contacts, as well as a much greater infrastructure of research and other resources. For the Telegraph Group it marks a first move into contract selling and both parties foresee significant opportunities for enhancing revenues, as well as maximising efficiency.
Managing director of Telegraph sales, Len Sanderson, said: “Using our proven management expertise to provide opportunities for niche players is an area of business development in which we see great potential. Sunday Business fits the bill perfectly and also sits very conformably product-wise as complimentary to our own titles.”
Managing Director of Sunday Business, Paul Woolfenden, added: “This is the way for the future. Sales structures in press will undoubtedly evolve and consolidate just as they have in TV and radio and it makes particular sense for a niche player such as ourselves. Above all it allows us to concentrate on content and marketing and to do so safe in the knowledge that our own sales team is being managed by people whose understanding of the market place makes them the very best in the business.”
As with other sales teams at the Telegraph Group, the Sunday Business team will report through advertising manager Peter Barrie, to display advertising director Chris White-Smith and group advertising manager John Wilson.
