Natmags Hires Pitt From IPC

Natmags has appointed IPC Southbank’s, Amanda Pitt, as Good Housekeeping group ad director and has reorganised its sales department.
The move marks a return to Natmags for Pitt who left the company in 1996. She joined IPC last year as head of advertorials and sponsorship for IPCtx and Connect and was appointed ad director across Woman & Home, Essentials and Family Circle in February. Pitt will replace Glenda da Marchant who is moving to Forward Publishing as commercial director.
Pitt will join a restructured sales department, with commercial directors reporting to their respective group publishing directors instead of reporting directly to deputy managing director Duncan Edwards. The reorganisation has been prompted by the company’s failure to find a suitable senior marketing figure to manage the commercial directors and head up the sales and marketing department and will see the ad directors of Natmags’ flagship titles, Good Housekeeping and Cosmopolitan, report to the publishing directors rather than commercial directors.
As a result, Pitt will report to Good Housekeeping group publishing director, Chris Hughes, and Caroline Nagel will report to Cosmopolitan group publishing director, Jan Adcock.
A spokesperson for the company today said: “We restructured the sales department last year, creating the commercial director roles, but it hasn’t worked out. We didn’t find the right person for the senior marketing position and thought ‘let’s go back to the way things were.'”
She added: “Publishing directors will now be responsible for the overall commercial and successful running of titles.”
