Channel 4 Secures Sponsor For The Osbournes

Channel 4 has secured a £700,000 sponsorship deal for the first UK terrestrial broadcast of The Osbournes from the show’s MTV sponsor, Golden Wonder Nik Naks.

The new series, due for terrestrial launch in November, will be supported by a national campaign comprising outdoor, radio and press activity. The programme’s sponsorship idents will feature the Nik Naks’ family, a creative concept produced specially for Golden Wonder by MTV UK.

The deal was negotiated by Adam Bishop at Starcom Motive, who said: “Nik Naks is a fantastic sponsorship partner for The Osbournes, it’s great to be associated with one of the most talked about TV shows of the year. We have already had great success with the sponsorship of the show on MTV and look forward to unveiling the campaign on Channel 4.”

Paul Goold, brand manager for Nik Naks, added: “By manifesting our brand values of eccentricity, individuality and fun, which fit perfectly with The Osbournes, we are able to talk to our target audience in an entertaining manner.”

Channel 4 secured the UK terrestrial TV rights for both series one and series two of The Osbournes earlier this year in a deal thought to be worth million of pounds (see Channel 4 Secures UK TV Rights To The Osbournes). Back in May MTV was forced to delay the UK premier of the show due to unresolved contractual negotiations between the Osbourne family over rights to a second series (see MTV Delays UK Debut Of The Osbournes).
