Barker Joins Opus As Head Of Client Development

GWR’s sales house, Opus, has poached Viacom Outdoor’s Sally Barker to become its new head of client development.
Barker, formerly head of advertiser development at Viacom Outdoor, begins her new London-based role this week and will focus on developing a more professional and targeted service for advertisers across all Opus’ radio services.
Barker will report to Opus sales director for Classic FM, Simon Daglish, and will oversee a team of seven client development executives.
Commenting on the appointment, Daglish said: “Sally is very well known and respected in the industry and will bring a new edge to the Client Development team. She will be an asset to the company having worked across key advertisers and with a plethora of experience in the industry.”
Prior to joining Viacom Outdoor Barker worked as advertising sales controller at Carlton Screen Advertising. Before that she spent six years at Carlton as an agency account manager.
Earlier this month Opus secured Tesco Motor Insurance as the sponsor of The Mix’s 50-strong fleet of branded Black Thunder vehicles. The £250,000 deal will see the insurance brand appear across the Black Thunder cars, covering rear wheel arches and front doors (see Opus Secures Sponsor For The Mix’s Black Thunder Fleet).
