Freeserve Forms Pre-Christmas Partnership With Amazon

Freeserve has formed a partnership with online retailer Amazon that will see the two sites promote each other in the run up to Christmas.

The alliance, which begins this month, will see Amazon.co.uk appear on Freeserve’s Shopping Channel allowing users to access the online retailer’s range of products. Amazon’s presence on the site will be supported by a portal-wide promotion, which will include integration into Freeserve’s new shopping tool and its forthcoming Christmas promotions.

Commenting on the deal, Freeserve’s managing director, Jon Gisby, said: “We continually strive to provide our customers with the most extensive and attractive offering and this new deal serves to strengthen our proposition to existing and new users alike by broadening our e-commerce facilities.”

Terry von Bibra, Amazon’s head of European business development and customer acquisition, added: “Marketing continues to play a key role in driving sessions to our web sites and increasing awareness of our brand and key brand attributes of trust, convenience, selection, and low prices among consumers.”

Earlier this month Freeserve extended its deal with Thomas Cook in a move that will see travel promotions run on the website until the end of November (see Freeserve Extends Thomas Cook Sponsorship Deal). The ISP also recently announced that that its advertising sales director, Caroline Pathy, is leaving the company in November to relocate to Geneva (see Freeserve’s Ad Sales Director Resigns After Three Years).
