Freeserve’s Ad Sales Director Resigns After Three Years

Freeserve’s advertising sales director, Caroline Pathy, has resigned from her post after three years with the ISP.

Pathy, who is stepping down in November to relocate to Geneva, was responsible for bringing Freeserve’s advertising sales in-house. She also helped to develop the company’s ad sales strategy and oversaw the hiring of a 32-strong sales team.

It is understood that Freeserve’s head of sales, Dave McCall, will replace Pathy as interim ad sales director until a permanent replacement is found.

Commenting on her departure, Pathy said: “The last three years have given me an outstanding experience. I am leaving in the knowledge that the Freeserve sales team is going from strength to strength, and I am confident that the operation will continue to flourish.”

Jon Gisby, managing director of the Freeserve Portal, added: “Caroline has made a major contribution to the success of Freeserve, creating a best-in-class sales operation and through her energy and commitment winning the confidence and financial commitment of many online partners.”

Last month Freeserve appointed Eric Abensur as its new chief executive officer following the recent departure of John Pluthero earlier in the year (see Freeserve Appoints New CEO To Replace Pluthero). Abensur, who has been acting CEO since Pluthero’s resignation (see Pluthero Quits Freeserve For Energis), previously worked at Freeserve as chief financial officer. Prior to this he was director of finance at France Telecom and has also held management positions at Ernst & Young’s audit departments.
