Messagizer Awarded Mykindaplace.com Sales Contract

Digital marketing group Messagizer has been awarded the contract to sell advertising across teen-girl website Mykindaplace.com’s email and wireless platforms.

Messagizer, the UK subsidiary of the Buongiornio group, will provide the hosting platform for Mykindaplace.com’s 300,000 standalone email subscribers and its 125,000 GSM subscribers. The digital marketing group will also be responsible for generating revenue and representing the site’s digital portfolio to agencies and clients.

Head of operations at Mykindaplace.com, Jenny Dannenberg, said: “Email and mobile marketing are a growing area for us and whilst it is vital not to overexpose our database and to maintain relevance we see this relationship as a significant step in maximising the revenue potential of the site.”

Mykindaplace.com, which is backed by BSkyB, is one of the few teen-orientated websites to have survived the dotcom crash. A number of portals received backing from multinational companies hoping to exploit the potential of the teen market at the height of the dotcom boom. However, many of the sites fell foul of the downturn, the most notable casualties being Swizzle, which was backed by Proctor & Gamble and Wowgo, which closed despite backing from Unilever.
