Telewest Launches Ad Campaign
![]()
Telewest Broadband, which rebranded last November (see Telewest Announces Rebrand), has launched advertising activity designed to raise awareness of the range of services available.
The initial focus of the campaign, in which radio is a “key medium”, along with posters and TV advertising, is the Talk Unlimited and blueyonder broadband internet services. Last year’s rebranding coincided with the restructuring of the Telewest marketing department, which was traditionally organised around product services
The campaign’s TV treatment, which features the music track Moving On Up by Primal Scream, will be shown during this month on ITV, GMTV and Flextech channels. It was directed by Tarsem, whose previous work includes ads for Levi’s, Nike and Barclays.
In last weekend’s Sunday Times, Sir Christopher Bland, chairman of rival communications services company BT admitted that Telewest and NTL, which both now offer the three part package of TV, broadband internet and telephone services, pose a threat to his company. He went on to hint that the next move for BT may be to move into television services (see BT Set To Become A Media Company).
