IPC Moves Horton To Content & Licensing Role
![]()
Andrew Horton has been appointed as IPC’s new content and licensing director. He moves from his current position as commercial director of IPCtx, although he retains his seat on the IPCtx board and will continue to be responsible for digital development at the group.
Horton replaces Carole Lovesey who has been working with IPCtx managing director Caroline Ward for the past year, reviewing and developing the strategy for the business, which includes international licensing, syndication, merchandise licensing, rights management and IPC’s digital photography library.
Commenting on his appointment, Horton said: “IPC’s content and licensing team make a significant contribution to IPC’s bottom line and business strategy. I’m looking forward to working with a talented team in delivering new deals which realise the value of our brands, content and strategy in the UK and overseas.”
A combination of the media adspend slowdown and IPC’s takeover by AOL/Time Warner last year (see Time Completes £1.15bn IPC Takeover) has meant that much has been made of the publisher’s “bottom line” in recent months. Belt-tightening measures so far have included the closure of several magazines and IPC’s events and exhibitions business (see IPC Closes Six Magazines).
