Outdoor Connection Unveils Board Games For Advertisers

Outdoor Connection has published what it claims is the first ever guide to perimeter board advertising at sports grounds in an attempt to “demystify” the medium and make it more accessible to advertisers.

The guide, entitled Board Games, charts the development of the UK perimeter board market, over the last ten years and is intended to communicate the “increasing accountability and professionalism” that the medium now offers.

Outdoor Connection’s board planning director, Lisa Lyte, said: “A great deal of progress has been achieved in recent years, as the major contractors make real headway with accountability. Perimeter boards can now be confidently proposed as a highly effective outdoor planning option.”

According to the guide, sports marketing as a whole has enjoyed a 42% rise in revenue since 1995. Vodafone, the top advertiser within the sports sponsorship market, spent over £30m in 2000 and Outdoor Connection predicts that expenditure on sports marketing in the UK will rise to £447m by the end of 2002.
