Analysis of TV revenue figures for May show that year on year, revenue across all the terrestrial channels showed signs of recovery,. The exception to the rule was GMTV, which saw a fall in its revenues. The best increase in percentage terms was at Channel 5, while both Channel 4 and ITV1 saw revenues increase by around 10% year on year.

Among the ITV franchises, the largest loss in revenue share year on year was at LWT. Meanwhile, Meridian saw the best increase. The largest share of revenue was taken by Central during May, followed by Carlton.

Costs Per Thousand

Costs per thousand rose year on year across the board for all the terrestrial channels during May. Some of the most notable increases were at ITV1.

Commercial Impacts

Commercial impacts were down year on year across the board for both Channel 4 and ITV1 during May. The largest falls for both were in the Housewives with children category. Meanwhile, Channel 5 saw universal increases in commercial impacts. Satellite also continues to gather strength in this respect.
