Emap’s Kiss and Big City radio station’s have secured an exclusive advertising deal with Warner Brothers to promote the launch of the third and final instalment of the Matrix trilogy, Matrix Revolutions.
Both stations will next month launch a three week campaign including film trailers and on air teasers. Listeners will also be offered the opportunity to win tickets to the premier of Matrix Revolutions in Los Angeles.
Film fans will be able to enter the competitions via SMS, radio phone-ins and online on at Kiss100.com. Kiss’ head of programming, Andy Roberts, has also created a special Matrix Mix, which will be broadcast during the campaign.
Commenting on the initiative, Denise Parkinson, head of film at Emap Advertising, said: “This is a coup for Emap radio to be the only stations where listeners will have a chance to see Matrix Revolutions first.”
The latest RAJAR results for the three months to September 2003 show that the flagship Kiss 100 FM saw its weekly reach increase by 7.6% year on year to 1,602,000. However, the Big City Network, (excluding London) proved slightly less fortunate with its weekly reach declining by 4.7% during the same period to 3,283,000.
Emap recently unveiled a £1.8 million advertising campaign to promote Kiss 100 its core 15 to 24 year-old youth audience. The ‘live sexy’ campaign includes outdoor advertising and editorially generated content in Metro newspapers (see Emap Rolls Out Live Sexy Campaign To Promote Kiss).
