Channel 4 Appoints New Managing Director Of 4 Ventures
Channel 4 has promoted Anmar Kawash to become the new managing director of the group’s commercial arm, 4 Ventures.
Kawash will take over from Rob Woodward, who became Channel 4’s commercial director last year. He will take over operational responsibility for the 4 Ventures’ businesses reporting to Woodward. Previously Kawash was chief operating officer for 4 Ventures and managing director of the company’s services division.
Prior to joining Channel 4 Kawash worked at Sprint and Verizon in the US. He also spent five years working in Investment Banking at UBS Warburg, and was chief operating officer for their US technology sector.
Commenting on the appointment, Woodward said: “Anmar has played a critical role in establishing 4 Ventures on a clear path to profitability and he’s ideally placed to get a grip of the day-to-day management of these businesses as we enter the next stage of 4Venture’s development.
He continued: “I’m excited by Graeme’s appointment as it gives us an opportunity to accelerate our presence in multi-platform events. Graeme has a great track record with content and we’re confident he’ll work effectively with commissioning editors and Channel 4’s independent suppliers.”
Michael Comish, who is currently deputy head of corporate development for Channel 4 will replace Kawash as Managing Director, 4 Services.
Danielle Lux, Channel 4’s head of entertainment group and controller of E4, recently stepped down following a change in the broadcaster’s entertainment commissioning structure (see Channel 4 Loses Head Of Entertainment Following Shake-Up).
